On this, the tenth year of the death of Yook Woo-dang's death, the International Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Queer Youth and Student Organisation would like to express our solidarity with the South Korean LGBTQ movement.

The importance of combating discrimination against LGBTQ people, and particularly LGBTQ youth and students, is to help ensure that young people like Yook Woo-dang don't feel like suicide is the only option. It is important because every person has the right to live in dignity and to be respected as individuals.

We applaud your work and efforts, and hope you will continue to fight with young people like Yook Woo-dang in mind.
